In this post we are going show you how to make sudanese dilka /dilke/ delka at home and explain to you the benefits of dilka that you didn't know and the secrets behind it.

What is the Sudanese dilka?
It is a paste that is used to lighten and moisturize the skin,it removes the pigmentation and tan of the skin and thus evens the color of the skin, it also stimulates blood circulation and gives the body a fragrant smell that lasts for days, and as a result of massaging the body with it, it works to tighten the muscles of the body and get rid dead skin.
Women extensively apply dilka before their marriage and after childbirth and of course to maintain a healthy glowing skin that smells super fresh.
In general there are two types of dilka; white and black, and each is different from the other, so black is the most used by married women and it is either with milk or corn flour. And it has many types too.

How to make Sudanese Dilka at Home:
In this post i will show how to make Sudanese dilka with corn flour:
the Ingredients of Sudanese dilka with corn flour are:
A cup of lupin
A cup of cornflour
A cup of cornstarch
A cup of ground chickpeas
A cup of rose water
Two tablespoons of ground cloves
Two big spoons of lemon juice
A cup of water
A spoonful of ground musk
A spoonful of: sesame oil, olive oil, and bitter almond oil
How to prepare Sudanese dilka with corn flour:
Soak the cloves in the cup of water overnight.
Put lupine, corn flour, cornstarch, chickpeas, rose water, lemon juice, musk, sesame oil, olive oil and almond oil in a saucepan over a low - heat, and leave it until it becomes soft.
Pour more rose water until the mixture softens.
Put the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator until use.
NOTE:
- Do not use a blender and let the mixture blend well naturally with wooden spoon until it becomes a paste.
- let it cook well otherwise it will spoil
- Use a spoon only if you made a big amount of dilka and want to have it as a stock.
Lastly, Dilka has so many types in Sudan and some types are only known and prepared by elderly women who have mastered over the years how to do it however the above type is a simple type of dilka that mainly girls can prepare at home.
